Director, Human Resources

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Summary of Position:
The Director, Human Resources leads all aspects of the human resources function across the organization with a strategic mindset and executive level partnerships. This includes programs, policies, and support for employees in both Canada, USA and globally. This role will report into the CFO and directly manage 2 roles.

Essential Functions:
• Creates a strategic vision for the HR function, aligned to corporate strategy, with an emphasis on the employee value proposition
• Provides coaching and business partnership to all members of the senior leadership team, including on accountability, goal setting and key performance measures
• Advises senior leadership on employee communications and develops internal and external communications
• Brings depth of expertise in at least two core HR functions (Performance Management, Learning & Development, Recruitment, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, Change Management, etc.)
• Leads the talent attraction, recruitment, and selection process across ARxIUM with the goal to recruit the best talent available to open positions
• Determines the priorities of the HR function, evaluates capabilities, and builds a business case to supplement with contractors as needed
• Evaluates alternative workforce models to ensure organizational adaptability and growth
• Develops a robust compensation strategy, bonus plan and benefits package that aligns both organizational and employee interests
• Leads employee engagement initiatives, strategy, and organizational sensing through surveys and focus groups
• Manages and oversees all HR programs and policies, including policies related to Covid-19 health measures, diversity & inclusion, and onboarding
• Oversees employee relations practices across the organization and ensures organizational fairness & equity, including in employee investigations and workplace mediation
• Directs the work of administrative functions related to payroll and benefits, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training coordination, and other HR functions
• Creates partnerships to provide high caliber training opportunities across the organization
• Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Provincial laws and regulations related to employment and workforce
• Participates in the development of annual departmental budgets/objectives and provide reports, KPI’s and updates to executive management as required regarding activities, cost, performance & HR scorecard

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; excellent presentation and group facilitation skills
• Ability to counsel and advise senior leadership on employee relations and performance issues; ability to deal with sensitive information

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years progressively responsible related experience, including at least three (3) to five (5) years of experience at a managerial level. A professional license or certificate in a specialized field – Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) preferred.
